Early Life, Nationality, Ethnicity
Vanessa Lucido was raised on a ranch by her parents, since they purchased it when she was four years old. So, she spent her early life surrounded by horses and other animals. Her father is the late Louis Charles Lucido. The name of her mother is Elizabeth Drew Lucido, who served on the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic committee. She has two brothers, named Anthony Lucido and Rusty James Lucido, both of whom are also involved in the drilling business.
Since she was born in the United States, she holds American nationality, belongs to White Caucasian ethnic group, and is a Christian.
Upon matriculation, Vanessa enrolled in the University of Utah, from which she graduated with a BA degree in Humanities, Communication, and Marketing in 2008, thereafter obtaining her MBA degree from the same University.
Vanessa Lucido’s family has been involved in the drilling business for ages. According to her LinkedIn account, her professional career started in June 2005, when she joined the family company Becho Inc.
The company was established in 1979 and headquartered in Sylmar, California. Initially, she served in the position of Assistant Project Manager and was in charge of contract claims and project claims. In June 2008, Vanessa was promoted to the position of Safety Director, working there until 2011, when the company was sold. During her stint there, she developed completely safety program. Besides that, she served as a Safety Consultant at Vml Consulting L.L.C. between 2011 and 2012, and then worked for Vmarie L.L.C. in 2012.
In 2012, her father established another company, called ROC Equipment, which provides equipment for drilling.
During the same year, he passed away in an industry-related accident at the age of 59. Following the sudden death of her father in August 2012, Vanessa became the owner of the company and started serving in the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the age of 26. The company has a DBE certification and is a North American distributor for BUMA Equipment.
Other Business Ventures
Besides that, Vanessa Lucido is an active member of the ADSC/NCCCO Drill Rig Task Force. She is a member of the Women in Deep Foundations Committee of Deep Foundations Institute (DFI).
She even held a speech at the MSSP expo presentation session at their 40th annual conference, which took place at Oakland Marriott City Center. Furthermore, Vanessa founded a children’s toy company, which she runs successfully.
“The Curse of Oak Island”
In order to promote the company ROC Equipment and expand their business, Vanessa Lucido started collaborating with the Lagina brothers, Rick and Marty, and helped them to excavate the borehole H–8.
Since they are treasure hunters and in the main cast of the reality TV series “The Curse of Oak Island”, the collaboration between them and Vanessa led to her appearances in the series and increasing her popularity – she made her television debut in the eleventh episode of the sixth season in January 2019.
The reality TV series “The Curse Of Oak Island” follows the Lagina brothers and their efforts to solve various mysteries in order to find the historical speculated treasure on Oak Island, which is located off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.

The island is best recognized for various mysteries and legends that hold hundreds of artefacts as well as treasure. Both of them became interested in finding treasure after reading the article “Treasure Hunt: The Mystery Of Oak Island” written by David MacDonald in the ‘Reader’s Digest’ magazine back in January 1965. The first episode of the series premiered in Canada on 5 January 2014. It has been aired on the History Channel ever since. The show is currently in its seventh season.

Although Vanessa Lucido is not very open regarding her personal life, it is known that she has a daughter, named Grace.
