Nathan Kress grew up in Glendale, California alongside two brothers. At a young age, all the siblings aspired for a career in show business, with Nathan being the earliest to be encouraged to act due to his memorizing ability, showcasing by how easily he could re-enact scenes he saw on television to his family. He signed with a talent agent, and began working mainly in advertising. He also had a few voice-over roles, one of his earliest voicing Easy in “Babel Pig in the City” when he was six years old.
Afterwards he took a break from acting to continue schooling, and lived a relatively normal life, before deciding at 11 years old that he was ready to return to the profession.
One of his earliest projects was a production of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” which motivated him in continuing an acting career. To support him, his parents enrolled him in a homeschool program so that he could dedicate more time to acting, and in the years that followed he appeared in several guest roles, in shows such as “Without a Trace”, “House”, and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”.

After an extended hiatus from “iCarly”, Nathan continued to be associated with Nickelodeon, though he took other roles such as a guest appearance in “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, which he accepted to veer away from his usual roles. His next roles would be guest appearances in “True Jackson, VP” and he also lent his voice to the animated show “The Penguins of Madagascar”. He then returned to film the final two seasons of “iCarly”, with the characters saying goodbye in its final episode in 2012. Since then, he’s only reprised his role once, in the spin-off “Sam & Cat”.
In 2014 he appeared in his first major film – “Into the Storm” – alongside Richard Armitage and Sarah Wayne Callies. The film tells the story about the unusual occurrences of tornadoes hitting a fictional town in Oklahoma. Afterwards he made a guest appearance in the web series “Video Game High School” which is a cult favorite aired on YouTube. The following year, he made his directorial debut, working on an episode of the show “Henry Danger”. He’s also been more interested in doing voice work in recent years, including on “Transformers: Cyberverse” and “Pinky Malinky”.
London met Nathan in 2014 on the set of “Into the Storm”, and the two began dating then. After a year together they became engaged, and married later in 2015 in a ceremony held in Los Angeles. They have a child together born in January 2018, and the couple often post photos together on social media. He is a devout Christian and admits that he feels great working on Freddie, a role that has inspired a lot of his fans. During their free time, the couple loves supporting numerous charities, including The Starlight Children’s Foundation, The Big Green Help, and Youth with a Mission (YWAM).
