Who is Kay Adams?
Kay Adams was born on 6 April 1986, in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and is a television personality as well as a sports journalist, best known for her work with the NFL Network on which she hosts “Good Morning Football”. She’s also worked for other companies, mostly a part of broadcasts involving professional American Football.
The Riches of Kay Adams
As of early-2020, Kay Adams’ net worth is estimated to be over $1 million, earned through success working on sports television programming. She’s earned high valued contracts while also serving as a field reporter, appearing live at several games.
She’s also done radio work, and has hosted special events for a few National Football League (NFL) teams.
Early Life and Education
Kay is of Polish descent, and grew up learning the language as it was often spoken at home. At a young age she developed an interest in sports, and would come to love American Football as he often watched it with her family. She became a big fan of the NFL team, the Chicago Bears, and aspired to have a career involved in the sport.
While she couldn’t be an athlete directly, there were many avenues to pursue to gain a profession with the popular sport. She grew up alongside two siblings who are also sports fans, and after matriculating from high school, she enrolled at Dartmouth College to earn a bachelor’s degree. While she hasn’t specified her educational achievements, she likely took a course in the broadcast journalism field. Dartmouth is a part of the prestigious Ivy League, a group of private universities considered among the top universities in the world. The school is also one of the earliest to be founded in the US, established in 1769.
After completing her degree, she quickly became involved in the sports world, but first went to professional baseball, working with a broadcast team that covered Major League Baseball (MLB), specifically for the St. Louis Cardinals. She often appeared at the team’s home games and was an in-game host. The team is based in Missouri and has been an active part of MLB since the 1880s, holding the record for third-most pennants within the National League (NL). The Cardinals are among the most valued MLB clubs in the league, with Forbes reporting their value at $1.9 billion.
Following her work there, Adams continued to show a desire for working in broadcasts of American Football. She first made her way to the sport through fantasy football shows, as a part of the several SiriusXM shows. Fantasy football is an online game played by sports enthusiasts, as they draft a fantasy team consisting of notable players from across the NFL. They then face against other players in a league, with players who perform the most in their statistics helping them win a round, leading up to play-offs by the end of each season.
Rise to Prominence
The shows that Kay was a part of include “Fantasy Drive” and “Livin’ the Fantasy”. Sirius XM is known for providing both online radio and satellite radio services which give them a national reach, even extending to Canada. Her passion and expertise would prove highly beneficial for her career, and she was offered more positions, becoming a part of another fantasy show – “Fantasy Zone” – which aired on DirecTV, a satellite television service provider in the US. While working for these shows, she gained fame thanks to her attractive looks as well.
Her popularity grew to the point that she was invited to become a guest in an episode of the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”. As the name denotes, the show is hosted by Craig Ferguson who ran the “Late Late” franchise from 2005 to 2014, before his duties were eventually taken over by James Corden. In 2016, Adams gained her biggest role so far, as she was hired by the NFL Network to become a host for one of their programs. The NFL Network is directly owned by NFL, as a part of their media conglomerate that handles all of the film, television, and digital aspects of the league.
Since 2016, Adams has been the host of “Good Morning Football” which airs every weekday morning, working alongside other hosts such as Nate Burleson and Kyle Brandt. The show follows stories that occurred the previous day as well as giving insights into upcoming football events. Her work with the NFL Network also led her to be in touch more with her childhood team, the Chicago Bears. Since joining the network, she has hosted special events for the teams, though they have less coverage.
Two years after working on “Good Morning Football”, she was also offered a contract with the subscription streaming service DAZN, which offers various sports programs on demand.
She joined their boxing broadcast team which would handle various live events and other on-demand programs on their network. In this new team, she joins names such as LZ Granderson, Brian Kenny, and retired professional boxer Sugar Ray Leonard. DAZN is based in the UK, but its service is offered to most parts of the world, including Japan, Germany, Spain, the US, Brazil, and Italy. The venture has been highly successful, with the company’s net worth estimated to be over $3.5 billion.
Kay doesn’t talk a lot about her romantic endeavors.
She admits it is difficult finding a long term partner who has a similar passion towards American Football. She was previously in a relationship with American Football player Danny Amendola, who played as a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and other teams. They were together in 2015 but broke up sometime the following year. She is now in a relationship with fellow journalist Larry Lease. During her free time, she enjoys athletic activities and staying fit. She also loves spending time near bodies of water, and often be spends time in resorts or on beaches.
