He grew up alongside two siblings, and attended Lakeside High School before moving to DeKalb School of the Arts. At a young age, he dreamed of becoming a writer, and after matriculating enrolled at New York University, taking up a degree in dramatic writing.
Around this time, he also developed an interest in becoming a DJ, and produced a few tracks under the name mcDJ. After completing his degree, he caught the attention of a producer of “30 Rock”, and he was hired him to become a writer for the sitcom which he did for three years.

In 2018, Glover signed with RCA Records, and then released the single “This Is America” which would win him four Grammy Awards.
He also worked in “Solo: A Star Wars Story”, portraying a younger version of the character Lando Calrissian. His performance was praised, but the film itself lacked any substance to add to the Star Wars continuity.
He also collaborated with other artists during this period, and headlined Coachella in 2018. The following year, he became a part of the remake of “The Lion King” which was directed by Jon Favreau, which proved highly successful at the box office, one of the highest-grossing films of all time. In 2020, he surprised everyone when he released a new album called “Donald Glover Presents” which featured guests such as Ariana Grande. However, the album was later taken down.
