Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings

At a young age, Lindsey developed an interest in acting, and wanted to pursue it as a career. She grew up in New York and began performing in school plays in high school, and wanting to take it further, she enrolled at Pennsylvania State University after matriculating studying for a degree in theatre. PSU is known to be one of the older and larger universities, with over 46,000 students, and is the home of the world’s largest philanthropy organization run by students.

After completing her degree, she began her pursuit of acting projects, and landed her first role in the web series called “The Burg” which she was a part of for three years.

The show was one of the earliest of its kind on YouTube, and was created by director Peter Sollett. It features several aspiring actors who would later become big stars such as Kelli Giddish and Brie Larson. The story of the show follows the lives of friends living in a place called Williamsburg.

Rise to Fame

While working on “The Burg”, Broad started gaining other notable projects, mostly guest roles in popular shows, such as in “Ghost Whisperer”, “Gossip Girl”, and “Without a Trace”. In 2009, she was cast in her first regular role in the television program “’Til Death”, which focuses on the life of a family and their conflict with new neighbors.

She played one of the children in the family named Allison Stark, however, she only stayed during the first two seasons of the show, and didn’t appear in every episode.

Lindsey then made her film debut, in a small role in “Get Him to the Greek”, starring Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, and featuring characters from the film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”. Afterward, she gained one of her most notable roles in the US version of “The Office”. The series is shot in a documentary style and follows the lives of employees of a fictional paper company. The show was responsible for helping elevate many of its cast members into stars, including Steve Carell, John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson.

In the show, she played the role of a temporary office worker who filled in for the character Pam for a season; it won numerous awards during its run.

Continued Acting Work

After Lindsey confirmed through social media that her character wouldn’t be returning to the show, she worked on another mainstream film called “21 Jump Street”, an adaptation of the television series of the same name. In the film, the characters of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are police officers who have to go undercover as high school students, to try and take down the supplier of a new synthetic drug. The film was highly successful, and even led to the sequel “22 Jump Street”, though Lindsey wasn’t a part of that project.

Instead, she worked on the Joseph Gordon-Levitt film “Don Jon”, which also starred Julianne Moore and Scarlet Johansson. The story of the film follows the titular character played by Levitt who finds pornography better than his active sex life, which leads him to struggle in his relationship. She then returned to television work, appearing as a guest in both “Zoo” and “Hello Ladies”. In 2015, she was cast in another regular series role in “Benders”, playing Karen Rosenberg. The show aired on IFC, and is about a group of friends who create an amateur hockey team, but was canceled after airing for a season.

Recent Projects

In 2016, Broad had a string of projects, appearing in episodes of “Blindspot” and “Kevin Can Wait”. She also appeared in a segment for “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”, a late-night show focused on satire, similar to “The Daily Show”. It features current events, news, and other true-to-life stories though it puts a satire spin on it. At times, the show features comedy sketches like the one she was featured in.

After a three year break, she then returned to acting work for the television show “In the Dark” which aired on The CW.

The show follows a blind woman who tries to solve the mysterious murder of her friend, with Broad appearing as a close friend of the lead character, working as a bartender; she was also the love interest of the character Dean Riley, played by Rich Sommer. She appeared in the first season, and the second season is in production for showing late in 2020. Linsey’s been noticeably taking fewer projects in the last few years, as she’s been busy raising a family, so only takes acting projects if they don’t coincide with her busy schedule.

Personal Life

Lindsey married longtime boyfriend Sean Bradley in 2014 – the two have been together for a long time though they don’t share a lot of details about their relationship. Their wedding ceremony was held in New York, attended by close family and friends. The couple has two children together, and she posts a bit about her family life on social media accounts such as Instagram. She loves going on vacations, but also owns two pet dogs. Based on her recent posts, she’s been spending a lot of time with her children, going out with the family often.
