She’s also gained sponsorships and collaborative work thanks to her large online following.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Lily grew up alongside two sisters. She didn’t intend on pursuing a modeling career at first. She loved going out and engaging in outdoor activities during her youth, and played a few sports, focusing on soccer in school and with friends. She also often accompanied her father who goes frequently on trips abroad for work.
Eventually, during one of her excursions she was spotted by modeling scouts just right after soccer practice. She was approached and accepted an offer to sign with Wilhelmina Models, having been elated with the chance to pursue a modeling career.
Wilhelmina is a modeling and talent agency based in New York, though it has offices in other parts of the US – it’s named after model Wilhelmina Cooper who founded the company during the 1960s. While it is primarily known for managing high profile models, it also manages other talents including athletes, artists, and musicians.
Work as a Model
Chee quickly took professional projects, as many companies were immediately interested in signing her to campaigns. She began working with Target, one of the largest retail companies in the country, and dating back to 1902, though the name Target itself was conceptualized sometime during the 1970s.
While the company has had numerous issues in the past, it regained its momentum in the 2010s, making it one of the top-earning companies in the US in recent years. She fitted the mould of Target’s audience, as it was looking into investing in marketing for younger and more image-conscious shoppers.
Following her work with Target, she signed a modeling contract with Old Navy, a clothing and accessories company originally based in San Francisco, which has numerous flagship stores across the country including in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle. The company hails its name from the Parisian bar called Old Navy Café which inspired the creator.
It is a subsidiary of Gap, with Old Navy being previously named as Gap Warehouse until 1994. She appeared in print campaigns and advertisements for the brand.
Transition to Acting
Apart from modeling, Lily also expressed an interest in pursuing an acting career and sought projects from her management as well. She was later cast in the Netflix television series “Daredevil”, which is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, and set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), starring Charlie Cox alongside Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson.
The show was successful during its three-season run, and even spawned a spin-off called “The Punisher”, also based on a Marvel character. During her time in the show, she portrayed a younger version of the character Elektra, played by Elodie Yung.
The sequences she was involved in depicted her training and the hardships she went through, which led her to the assassin she would become. Despite positive reviews, “Daredevil” was canceled by Netflix, a move that later marked the end of Netflix’s association with Marvel. In 2017, she was cast in the film “Sunset Park” portraying a young version of Jessica Rho.
She didn’t let her modeling career stay stagnant despite all of these projects, and continued by appearing during the Petite Parade Fashion Show as a catwalk model.
Online Fame
Chee gained a lot of fame with her projects, and her acting work in particular brought in a huge following. Her social media pages quickly gained attention, and in particular her Instagram would have over 1.4 million followers. She mainly posts about some of her day to day endeavors which often involve her doing photo shoots. She goes to tropical areas from time to time, and also shows her outfits while she is out and about town.
She has expanded her reach to other platforms, and started a YouTube channel which she began promoting through Instagram. The channel began sometime in late-2019, and she’s uploaded a few videos to it, committing a video a month, with subjects including her skincare routine, and being behind the scenes in her work with Marc Jacobs. She’s also posted a few video blogs (vlogs), showing recent travels – she’s recently been to Mexico and Hawaii, enjoying the beaches as well as other sites of these places. She also does a few sponsored posts, though not so many as she gains regular work with high-profile brands.
Personal Life
Lily is single, and doesn’t talk about her romantic endeavors in public. She shows no signs that she is dating or is interested in dating. She is still young at 16, and is likely focused on her work though it is not known if she’s currently continuing her education or has a homeschooling setup. She is responsible for helping her sister gain a modeling career, while all of the siblings have become social media stars in their own right. She also does charity work during her free time, and often collaborates with the foundation called Pencils of Promise, which helps provide education to parts of the developing world, such as Ghana, Laos and Guatemala.
